Wimbledon Debut Outfit 2005
Murray wore this polyester Fred Perry outfit during his senior Championships debut in 2005. Coming in as an 18-year-old wildcard, he made it to the third round after recording a shock win over Radek Stepanek. Despite a 6-7 (4-7), 1-6, 6-0, 6-4, 6-1 loss to David Nalbandian on Centre Court, Murray had proved his world-class potential to onlookers.
London 2012 Olympics Winning Outfit
These polyester top and shorts were designed by Stella McCartney. The designer worked on the 2012 Olympic Commission for two years, with the brief to design for 600 athletes in 26 disciplines. This is the exact outfit that Murray wore when he won the Olympic singles final at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, beating beat Roger Federer 6-2, 6-1, 6-4.
US Open Winning Shirt 2012
2012 proved to be a good year for Murray. Not long after winning the Olympics, he defeated defending champion Novak Djokovic 7–6, 7–5, 2–6, 3–6, 6–2 in four hours and 54 minutes at the US Open. He was wearing this Adidas Barricade shirt at his moment of victory, which he signed after the match. The shirt is made from climacool polyester, a breathable fabric which wicks away moisture and adjusts to body temperature.
Centre Court Grass Cuttings 2013
These rye-grass cuttings were cut by the Chief Executive of The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Richard Lewis, on 9 July 2013. This was the first time the grass had been cut after Andy Murray won the Gentlemen's Singles final against Novak Djokovic at The Championships 2013, a victory which saw him become the first British man to the Gentlemen's Singles Wimbledon in 77 years.
Signed 2015 Davis Cup Finals Poster
Andy Murray was part of the 2015 World Group Final Davis Cup team, along with his brother Jamie, James Ward, Kyle Edmund and Dominic Inglot. They defeated Belgium 3-1, winning the World Group series for Great Britain, a feat that had not been achieved since 1936. This advertising poster for the event was signed by players from both sides and captures the entertaining atmosphere of Davis Cup matches.
Outfit from The Championships 2016
2016 has seen Andy Murray’s ascent to become the World No.1 singles player. A key part of this was his win at this year’s Championships, beating Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6, 7-6. He wore this Under Armour outfit with red and black details.
