Friday's Quotes of the Day
Rafael Nadal, Venus Williams, Johanna Konta and others offer their thoughts on a busy Day 5 at the All England Club READ MORE

Highlights from the interview rooms on Day 5 of The Championships...

Venus Williams says she has no plans to stay on tour as a coach post-retirement:
"I need a break from touring, rain delays, waiting on matches. I don't need that in my life after this. You guys can do that!"

Rafael Nadal is baffled by the concept of not giving 100 per cent:
I don't understand sport without trying your best. I don't understand go to play golf, and don't try your best. I don't understand go to play, even a football match between friends, don't try your best... Is about competition at the end of the day.

Johanna Konta explains why she won't be going to see her beloved U2 at Twickenham on Saturday:
"Because I'm actually seeing them a few weeks later. I've already planned to see them!"

Heather Watson on Konta's chances at Wimbledon:
"I've said this before, that I think she can win a slam. She's playing brilliant, so solid, so aggressive. She always has good results on the grass. So why not?"

Victoria Azarenka on her distractions off court:
"My son is teething right now, and he's a little bit fussy at the moment. It's a little bit tough."

Elina Svitolina says there'll be something in the air on 'Manic Monday':
"Everyone is smelling the winning, smelling the amazing feeling of being in Wimbledon's quarter-finals. It's something very special."

Benoit Paire recalls his last outing on Court 18:
"I remember I played on the same court in 2013 I think against [Lukasz] Kubot, and I was so nervous. I broke all my rackets."

Aljaz Bedene reveals his neighbour at dinner on Thursday night was Gilles Muller - the man who beat him the following afternoon:
"He's a great guy. I don't have any problems sitting next to him! We chat. I would say he's one of the nicest guys on tour."

Marin Cilic, meanwhile, has his weekend dinner plans already organised:
"Jonas [Bjorkman] is taking us to a Swedish restaurant, so we're gonna experience a few more Swedish specialities."

It's no surprise to Simona Halep that Azarenka is into the last 16:
"I didn't have doubts that she would come back since I heard that she's pregnant. She has everything to be there. She was No.1 in the world, Grand Slam champion. She's a strong personality."

Jelena Ostapenko says she's known by another name among friends:
"Everyone who knows me, knows that my real name is Alona. Normally some people that just came to watch tennis, maybe they don't know that."
